Cambridge – Part Time Nanny (24 hours/week) – Flexible Start

This is the sister position to this job posting. The family is open to both position configurations, but will only be hiring for one of them.

A multi-lingual family located in Cambridgeport is searching for a part time nanny to begin when the right match is found and are flexible to accommodate ASAP start dates. They have a 3 year old son who speaks 3 languages and will start a morning program in September, plus a newborn is expected in July. Primary care will be for the toddler.

A possible schedule for this position is M-Th 12pm-6pm for a guarantee of 24 hours/week, though the family is able to consider different schedules. If you are interested in a specific schedule, please inquire. The ability to cover an occasional Saturday shift is strongly preferred. A Friday shift can be part of the schedule based on candidate preference. Duties of this role include creating and implementing developmentally appropriate/curriculum based activities, spending much of the day outdoors exploring nature and the world around us, going to activities, simple child meal preparation, children’s laundry, supporting language development, and general tidying.

This is a collaborative role with mom, who stays at home. Dad works from home in a separate office space and spends some time traveling. Each day, phones should be left at the door to support the family’s no-screen policy and candidates should promote and model a healthy, organic lifestyle. Those with joy for the day and an open-minded, kind way of moving about the world would be perfect matches for this family. Comfort with attachment parenting based on empathy and following Becky Kennedy’s “Good Inside” approach would also make for an excellent match. Familiarity with the Montessori philosophy and support for natural consequences and open-ended learning is a bonus.
